Crappy Day
I had a very crappy day yesterday.
I know, it was Easter Sunday and I should be happy. But I just had a crappy day yesterday and it’s being carried over today and probably for the rest of the week.
I should be writing about something else but that would have to wait for another day.
I woke up at 8:30 AM and I had to do some work. We had this maintenance thing at work and this was a big one. Power modules were to be installed on site for our servers and everything had to be put down. So there I was shutting down servers assigned to me at 8:30 AM working on a Sunday.
At around 9:00 AM, I was done shutting down my list and I was off to play basketball with RA. He just came in last April 2 and he doesn’t have a lot of things to do which is why I invited him to play basketball. We used to play a lot when we where in college so it was really nice to play with him again after a few years.
After playing hoops, we ate lunch and I had to rush home to work on the restart of our servers. I had to check each server that was assigned to me if they are up and running fine. It took me a few hours to finish but by 3 PM, I was done. I have an hour to rest before moving to my next activity.
At 4 PM, I needed to move out of the house and go to Hougang which is an hour bus ride to play hoops again. I promised Obray that I would play so even if I’m tired, I will play. I never back out on a promise. I will move heaven and earth to just make sure that I will fulfill my promise.
I arrived around 5:30 PM. A little bit late but almost on time then proceeded to go to the basketball court in Serangoon. We got there around 6 PM and we had to wait a little to play.
For the record, this was the first time I saw mixed basketball games. What do I mean by mixed? Girls playing basketball with guys. Back home, this is a definite no no. But here, it was okay. And man, those girls can play. Well, they have moves but nothing special.
To be honest, I had mixed emotions when it was my time to play. We where playing with chicks and oh my, one of them was really really hot. She was around 17 or 18 years old, but damn. She was guarding me and I didn’t know what to do. So what I did was just shoot some 3’s. Man, that cute chick was really harassing me. She was pushing me and stuff but what was I supposed to do? Push back? Get her on the low post then muscle my way? No way! There is absolutely no way that I am going to do that. I’m bigger, stronger and better than her. Even if I was tempted, I didn’t take advantage of the situation. I even said sorry every time she got hit by my elbow even if it was her fault.
Then I had a break. A guy finally switched on me on defense. At least I was gonna play the way I want to since he is a guy and I don’t need to treat him with respect. I dribbled left then faked right then went to my left. It turns out, 3 guys wanted to guard me all at the same time. I turned left then tried to spin to the right. Then a frickin knee hit me on the side of my left knee. I felt shock waves in my knee. I was out of the game in no time.
My knee was busted. I felt pain at my hamstrings which is the muscle at the back of my knee.
I wasn’t even trying to do anything special. Those guys just hit my knee. Breaks of the game.
After the game, my knee was hurt bad. I was having trouble with stairs. My left leg can’t support my weight without hurting. I woke up with a slightly inflamed knee. I was expecting that already. But the sharp pain when walking, it’s killing me with every step.
But I still had to go to work. The office can’t afford me to miss a day this week. I am overseeing a lot of projects and missing a single day of work would make a mess of a lot of projects for a lot of people.
My day has just started but I know it will be crappy.

Sunday was not so bad for me…
actually it was great!
It was my first time to attend a Filipino mass, happens to be Easter Sunday also!
The Novena church was overflowing with our kababayans!
and when the mass ended, as if there was an Alay-Lakad going to all directions! The sidewalks leading to Balestier and Novena Square was filled-up… with Pinoys!
Great sight to see!

Yeah.. I know what you’re talking about… Pinoys are like that… We gather at church but the biggest crowds are usually on the special or feast days…. After church, we scatter… Hehehe… Off to the malls!!! Hahaha….
